With Sand Clock, the trio deepen this language. The album leans more directly into the melodic clarity and romantic tension of late-80s and early-90s darkwave and synthpop while maintaining the stark restraint that defines the project. Icy synthesizers, shuddering basslines, and precise drum machine programming frame baritone vocals that are intimate, emotionally exposed, and quietly apocalyptic.

Balancing pop structure with gothic atmosphere, Sand Clock moves between shadowed dance floor momentum and solitary headphone introspection. It is not an exercise in revivalism, but a continuation—an acknowledgment that the emotional architecture of that era remains unresolved and still relevant. Written and produced by Donato Dozzy, Lino Monaco, and Nicola Buono and recorded in Rome and Pompeii in 2023.

For this special occasion, the legendary Greek duo In Trance 95 will perform their first-ever live set in the U.S., celebrating the release of their The Move EP, out May 27th on Minimal Wave. Also performing live is An-i, the Berlin-based Cititrax artist known for his analog-driven, body-shaking sets, pulling from his fierce trilogy of Cititrax EPs: Kino-i, Gutz, and Rabble.

Minimal Wave founder Veronica Vasicka will open the night with a vinyl DJ set showcasing early Minimal Wave releases, tracing the label’s origins and influences. She’ll then go b2b with the brilliant Sharlese, digging deep into obscure cuts and dancefloor gems from both the Minimal Wave and Cititrax catalogs, along with other hidden treasures.

Blending commanding rhythms with melancholic undertones, Scooterboys from the Pool is a descent into shadowy textures and dystopian landscapes, where driving basslines meet icy, mechanical beats in a pulsing haze of underground spirit.

At the heart of the album is the title track, Scooterboys from the Pool—a haunting rework of Bronski Beat’s iconic Smalltown Boy. Reimagined through ABF’s signature lens, this version strips the original to its essence, replacing its shimmering synths with something colder, heavier, and more urgent while preserving the emotional weight of its narrative. This track has been played at numerous DJ sets, and each time, it cuts through the room like a ghost from the past—achingly familiar yet transformed, stirring something deeply personal with its raw intensity.

Inspired by Christina Aguilera, she experimented with powerful vocal styles, and a pivotal moment came when her teacher advised her to perfect her technique rather than sing through her throat, igniting her commitment to mastering her craft.

At 13, Maresz began posting covers on Soundcloud and was drawn to bedroom pop. By 16, she discovered the Eastern electronic scene, particularly Schema and Kedr Livanskiy, inspiring her to produce her own music. Now based in Paris, where she studies Social Sciences, Maresz continues to explore new artistic paths, blending her disciplined foundation with creativity.

At 21, Maresz is making waves with her new single on Cititrax, featuring a haunting reinterpretation of Nirvana’s “Come As You Are,” titled “Memoria,” alongside her original track “Hey !” This release showcases her unique blend of post-punk ethos and ethereal expression, promising to captivate listeners with heartfelt emotion.

In Andrew’s own words, the album “represents a sonic analog to the visual art movement of the 1960s,” meaning it is both densely layered and psychedelic, yet aims to capture a sense of minimalism in its tradition, theory, and conceptual approach. Co-producer Tyler Green joins Andrew in shaping this sound, adding his own unique production style to the mix.

OP-ART’s sound is heavily influenced by the New Wave genre, drawing inspiration from artists such as John Foxx, Martin Dupont (with whom Andrew has collaborated on a track), Experimental Products, and early OMD. True to their commitment to authentic analog sound, OP-ART eschews digital plug-ins in favor of a wide array of analog synthesizers and outboard rack effects units. The album features a diverse collection of synthesizers including the EML 500, Arp Odyssey, Arp Omni2, Jupiter 6, SH-02, SH-101, Moog Rogue, and Roland Promars. Each piece of equipment contributes to the album’s lush, rich soundscapes, creating a tactile and immersive listening experience.

The Final Act, the title of the LP, is a testament to the duo’s ability to blend catchy melodies with profound emotional depth. The album offers an introspective journey through themes of time passing, romantic entanglements, and existential reflections on an apocalyptic scale. In an exciting development, the fifth edition of the Oppenheimer Analysis self-titled EP is set to debut in December, featuring the original remastered version of ‘The Devil’s Dancers.’ This EP is presented as a loving tribute to Martin Lloyd (1950-2013 R.I.P.), one half of Oppenheimer Analysis. The EP showcases select tracks from the 1982 Oppenheimer Analysis cassette titled “New Mexico,” along with two previously unreleased gems. The story behind Oppenheimer Analysis began when Andy Oppenheimer, a nuclear weapons consultant, and Martin Lloyd, also known for his work with the Survival Label and the project “Analysis,” crossed paths at a Science Fiction Convention in London in 1979. They shared the stage with notable bands like Hawkwind and Spizz Energi and garnered attention in the pages of Melody Maker.

This fifth edition release consists of 999 meticulously hand-numbered 180-gram black vinyl copies, each accompanied by the first edition poster insert. Notably, the spot color on the sleeve distinguishes each edition: green for the first, deep blue-green for the second, light powder blue for the third, mint green for the fourth, and a brighter aqua mint for this current fifth edition.
